17-18 December 2011: Visit to V5, UTP Open Day

This visit was a programme planned to unite two gilrs's colleges from two universities in hopes to strengthen the bond through many other collaboration programmes in the near future. As a start, Village 5 college from the University Technology Petronas, has invited our Mahallah for their first ever Open Day.  In this two days programmes, our visit there was treated well with games, good food, delicious local fruits and movie show under the moon light.

As a result from the visit, we are proud to say that we have established a stable friendship with them and hope that it will continue to flourish through more events organised together.

Tautan Ukhuwah: UTP visits Safiyyah

On the 23rd October 2011, Safiyyah had recieved a friendly visit from students of University Technology Petronas (UTP) who came all the way from Perak! Yes, you heard me right. Consist of 5 students and  a fellow, we were very honoured to have them here to share our knowledge in the  betterment of the hostel. We showed them around the Mahallah including the cafeteria, MRC room, reading room, TV room, laudry area as well as the rooms in block J and Musolla. The sharing moment we had was such a bliss! We hoped that this bond we have created will continue to harvest and grow in the future InsyaAllah.

21-25 November 2011 :"We CARE, We SAVE"

Green Week programme is an ongoing effort made by the  MRC in hopes to educate and give awareness to students about the importance of making a difference in saving our mother earth. Consist of four sub-programme, 1) Energy &Water Conservation, 2) Reduce, 3) Reuse and 4) Compost Week.

In this first programme, we started of with an official opening by the Principal, a showcase of some short videos on how to conserve energy and water as well as a competition.
As a result from this programme, students are more aware of the need to save water and energy in order to give a positive impact for the world and our future. Apart from that, many students too, took part in the competition as a way to show their support for this cause.

21 November 2011 : Malam Penghayatan Puisi

This was an event organised by the POETRY CLUB, in collaboration with MAHALLAH SAFIYYAH, which, among its objectives were  to gather poetry enthusiasts of traditional and modern genre from various cultural and language background. The event was expected to offer the audience an introduction to the variety of art and literature of poetry and their charm. It was also aimed at strengthening the ukhuwah and spreading of da’wah through poetry, in line with the club’s motto. Among the performers invited that night were Angklung, Percussionists, various languages poets. We also had feature guest performers from Roslan Madun, Fedtri Yahya, Wani Ardy, Mohd Jayzuan, Pendekar Bambu and last but not least the representatives from Kelab Deklamator.

27-28 October 2011 : Inter Block Cultural Week

Inter-block cultural week is a yearly event organized as an effort to discover talent from Mahallah Safiyyah for an upcoming event called Inter-Mahallah Cultural competition. This time around, the response was overwhelming for every competition which comprises singing, dancing, dikir barat and lastly beauty contest.

24-28 October 2011 : China exhibition; A humble journey

In conjunction with our educational and cultural trip to Guangzho, China last July, Mahallah Safiyyah had made a special exhibition at Dar al-Hikmah library displaying our humbling experience through the eyes of all the members. This journey of ours could be reflected in our scrapbooks, photographs, posters and even the décor! By the end of the week, this exhibition was a fulfilling success as many students and outsiders both local and international gave a good feedback towards it.

22 October 2011 :Tahsin Solat

A unique programme organised by the bureau of Da’wah and Tarbiyyah, aimed at educating students the right and the best technique on how to pray the daily prayers as well as to answer all the frequently-asked-questions of some curious students. Having to receive almost 150 participants, the program was an instant hit overall

Welcome the new line up of MRC Mahallah Safiyyah 2011/12

14-16 October 2011: Mc lead 2011

In this annual affair, a motivational and leadership camp was organized for all the MRC (Mahallah Representatives Committees) from all Mahallah in IIUM. This year’s venue was Pine Resort, Fraser Hill. There, we were taught many valuable lessons such as the soft skills and how to organise programmes in IIUM. Apart from that, we were also given outdoor activities which challenged us both mentally and physically. Although it was challenging, our work paid off as we got the chance to view and feel the beauty of Fraser Hill while at it. By the end of the programme, all the MRC have learnt much useful and beneficial knowledge that we can apply it for the betterment of the Mahallah in the near future.

6-10 October 2011 : , MC Yah corner at Stabaz

The first ever entrepreneurial programmed joined under in conjunction with the convocation fiesta called STABAZ. Aimed at enhancing some of the seven soft skills among students, participants from Mahallah Safiyyah were more than eager to start making some money!  Having to open a booth selling variety of food and beverages such as dim sum, colek buah, sausage bun, big apple donut and ice blended. Gladly, the respond from customers were very good and we even won ourselves among “The Best Booth” for the week! This participation aimed at fund raising for one of our upcoming program which is Humanitarian Trip to Acheh.

23 September 2012 : Eid Celebration

Ramadhan has come and left us...yet we hoped that it had left us becoming a better and stronger Muslim than before. On the 23nd of September 2011, an Eid Celebration had been organised with the hope that it strengthen our bonds and friendships through a festive of Malaysian Raya cuisine. All kind of local food like briyani, curry, nasi impit and rendang was served at the MPH around 8.30pm with 500 students came down to celebrate it with us!

22 September 2011: Safiyyah Taaruf & Bai'ah Session

This is a programme organised to welcome all new students to Mahallah Safiyyah every new semester. Having to receive a large number of students both from CFS and direct intake this year, this programme focused on introducing new students to Mahallah’s administration, officers, infrastructure and rules and regulations.

Among the students attended, were the Principals as well as the distinguished fellows. Apart from them, we also had a special guest brought all the way from the counseling unit, Brother Shah Reza, to talk about the challenges living in campus and  how to manage it. The night ended with a Bi’ah ceremony or also known as the oath taking ceremony, introducing the new lineup of the MRC 2011/12.
