Attendance is compulsory for all new intake students. There is also a session (MAGNET MEN, MAGNET LADIES) with counselor.

REPORT ON A TRIP TO PANGKOR ISLAND

The trip to Pangkor Island had successfully organized on 8th-10th April 2010. We would like to cangratulate the participants and committees who had gave all the support and cooperation towards the success of this programme. A token of appreciation to the trainers, Sir Rudi and Sir Rosli for conducting the compass and trekking session.

A Trip To Pangkor Island- Compass Module

MRC will be organizing a compass module programme at Pangkor Island on 8th- 10th April 2010.

It is a compass module programme.
Some of the proposed activities:

• PEOPLE COMPASS
• JUNGLE TRACKING AND LAND NAVIGATING

Fees: RM 40 ( accomodation, transportation, food for 3days 2 nights)

RECTOR VISIT TO SAFIYYAH

On 8th February 2010 around 4.00 p.m, mahallah Safiyyah had been visited by the Rector of IIUM. Our Rector, Y.bhg Prof Dato' Sri Dr Syed Arabi Idid was accompanied by Deputy Rector of Student Affairs, Prof Dr Nik Ahmad Kamal Nik Mahmod, Director Student Development Division, Dr Akhmal Khuzairy Abd Rahman, Director Student Affairs Division, Tn Hj. Kamaruddin Hj. Samat, Principal of Mahallah Safiyyah, Asst Prof Dr. Akhtarzaite Abd Aziz, General Manager of IP and Chief Security Office had visited the mahallah to know the progress, facilities and other related information on the mahallah.

On 9th February, the closing ceremony for Inter Mahallah Cultural and Debate Week was organized by the organizing committee from different MRCs.

congratulations to our participants who were representing our mahallah in singing(group) competition, busana muslimah show and poem.

TALK ON COUNSELING : A LEADER OR A FOLLOWER

On 28th December 2009, MRC had organized talk on counseling: a leader or a follower in collaboration with Counseling Services Department at MPH Safiyyah. this programme was conducted by Madam NoorDinah Mohd Kassim, counsellor ,IIUM. The objectives of the programme were:
*To enhance students in believing their real potential.
*To develop their understanding in becoming a well-balanced student.
*To help them in achieving their mission and vision.
*To pursuit students in becoming a leader.

This programme had reached its objectives. We would like to thanks and gratitude to all the committee members who give their full support towards the success of the programme. May Allah S.W.T bless our efforts in this world and the Hereafter. InsyaAllah.

EDUCATIONAL AND RESEARCH TRIP TO INDONESIA

On 20th -25th November 2009, an educational and research trip was organized by Mahallah Representative Committee (MRC) Safiyyah, in collaboration with Grup Pengkaji Tamadun Dunia (GPTD). The objectives of this programme are; to expose the students to the outside world, to enhance the knowledge and experience and to make research about others’ cultures and life styles. There were many interesting places visited such as Universitas Negeri Sharif Hidayatullah, Tangkuban Perahu Mount, Bandung Technology Institute, Masjid Mujahidin Bandung, Kampung Naga, and Mizan Publisher. Basically, most of the times were spent in Bandung, which is a very beautiful place. Most interesting is when it comes to the shopping time, because the prices of the goods are cheap, especially the bags, shoes and clothes. This programme has achieved its objectives. Insya Allah, a travel log or book compiling the writings of the participants published by Alaf 21 Sdn Bhd will be launched.
